DIY Hair Mask | Nourishing and Hydrating

Hair mask is currently my most favourite part of hair care. After I coloured my hair, my hair was really dry and lost all its lustre. That was exactly when I realized that I needed something more in my hair care routine than just the shampoo and conditioner.  My hair was becoming brittle and dry , and I was beginning to worry. I started using various hair masks and it started improving the condition and texture of my hair.

When I was young, I used to love applying natural ingredients onto my hair before I wash my hair. I was not quite sure what I was doing, but I knew I was doing something good. Our kitchens are filled with all these amazing stuffs, we don’t necessarily need anything else to do amazing things.

Today I am sharing with you my favourite hair mask which is enriched with proteins and all the goodness from natural ingredients, to improve the condition of your hair and nourish it.

Hair mask – Ingredients

  • 2 Egg yolks
  • Coconut oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Ripe Banana – 1 – Mashed
  • Honey – 1 Tbsp
  • Coconut Milk – 2 Tbsp

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl really well until you reach a smooth consistency. Make sure the banana you use is very ripe or else it is going to be chunky and will be really difficult to get those pieces out of your hair. Trust me! I have been there.
  • Apply all over your hair, including your scalp. Make sure the mask is evenly coated through  out the length of your hair and massage it gently onto the scalp.
  • Wrap a hot towel around your head, so that the mask can penetrate well. You can also use a shower cap. It is ok if you skip this extra step.
  • Wait for 30 minutes and rinse your hair well with shampoo. Reapply the shampoo again because the egg can be a little fowl smelling.  Also use a conditioner if hair mask

This mask made my hair really soft and hydrated. I have long straight hair that gets knotty in a jiffy and this hair mask made it almost tangle free and easy to tame.
